Экранизация одноименной повести Анатолия Рыбакова "Бронзовая птица". Пионерский отряд, в который входят Миша, Гена, Слава, выезжает на лето за город в палаточный лагерь, расположенный у бывшего имения графа Карагаева. Два мальчика, Игорь и Сева, убегают - то ли бить итальянских фашистов, то ли из-за насмешек Генки. Пионеры прочесывают лес. Ночью к их костру приходит местный парень Жердяй и предупреждает о призраках графа и его сына, казненных императрицей Елизаветой, которые сторожат клад и появляются у гати на болоте...
